Andre Blanc-Dumont
1908 - Andre Blanc-Dumont is born in France.
1926 - 18-year-old Andre becomes a stunt pilot.
1939 - 31-year-old Andre escapes from France & tries to join the British forces in England, but instead falls in with Janos Prohaska, joining the Blackhawks.
1941 - WWII begins.
1947 - 39-year-old Andre & the Blackhawks help kill Hitler's brain.
1951 - 43-year-old Andre retires when Janos Prohaska is lost.
1956 - 48-year-old Andre dies of lung cancer.
Other then Janos himself, Andre is probably the member of the Blackhawks that is depicted most often. It's easy to imagine a very particular backstory for this particular member of the squadron, making him a daring french stunt pilot.
Of course, because his visual design is perhaps the most iconic of the various members of the squadron, we're including him more for that than for any specific innovation in his backstory. Still, if you're going to make a team of pilots that all come from the various countries invaded by the Germans, you obviously include a Frenchman, and the personality of that character really writes itself. |
